Specifications
Renew-Crete® Stain-N-Seal is an acetone based concrete stain. These stains are UV resistant and colour fast. Stain-N-Seal is designed to create a look similar to an acid stain but the application is much less complicated. Stain-N-Seal is a penetrating dye that impregnates a permanent color into any unsealed concrete or masonry surface. Stain-N-Seal is available in 18 colours.
Surface Preparation
The application area should be clean and free from all forms of dirt, oil, alkali, paint, cure & seals, and any other form of contaminant.
Test areas are strongly recommended on the actual surface of the proposed application. Testing in several areas of the concrete will better determine suitability, coverage, and approximate final results. Protect all areas that are not to be dyed with proper masking.
Apply Stain-N-Seal dyes only to dry, neutral concrete surfaces.
Mixing Instructions
Stain-N-Seal dyes are packaged in a liquid form that needs to be mixed with 3.7 litres of Acetone. Open the Acetone and remove 2 cups of Acetone. Pour the Stain-N-Seal solution into the Acetone. Close the container and shake well for 30 seconds to blend the mixture.
DO NOT use any form of electrical equipment to mix the Stain-N-Seal with the Acetone. It is recommended to follow the instructions and the material safety data sheet for exposure limitations and safe handling practices of Acetone.
Application Instructions
Apply Stain-N-Seal dye using an acetone resistant sprayer with fan or cone tip, keeping the tip approximately 50cm from the surface. Apply in a uniform circular motion, not allowing the dye to puddle. The concrete surface should appear wet for just a few moments when applied properly. Mop or blot up any puddles or excess dye with a clean rag to allow the surface to dry. Allow the Stain-N-Seal dye to dry for approximately 15 minutes. If desired, a second coat or an additional colour may be applied in the same manner to add highlights or different effects. Allow the second coat to dry for approximately 15 minutes before sealing.
Sealing
After the surface has dried completely (15 to 30 minutes), the surface should be sealed with 2 to 3 coats of Renew-Crete® Sealer.
Coverage Rate
3.7 litres covers 35 - 55 square meters.
